This is a small, friendly online Pilates class for over 50s, live on Zoom, every Tuesday at 10am.

No driving over. No hunting for a parking space. No standing about in a draughty hall waiting for the class before you to clear off.

Lots of my students have been told by their GP or physio that some gentle movement would do them good.

This isn't about chasing a fitness goal, it's about keeping yourself moving well so you can keep doing the things you enjoy— gardening, keeping up with grandchildren, walking the dog.

Things people often say to me

Here are some things people often say to me when they're thinking about joining a class:

"I've never done Pilates before."
Most of the people in this class hadn't either. You don't need to be fit or flexible to start — you just start.
"My joints are a bit stiff and creaky these days."
That's exactly why the pace here is gentle. It's about moving well, not moving fast or moving a lot.
"I've been to a class before and felt left behind."
I hear this sometimes — usually the instructor went too fast, or didn't check how you were getting on. That's not how I teach. The small group and gentle pace mean I notice if something's not working for you and can offer alternatives.
"I've never used Zoom."
That's OK. It's a bit like FaceTime. I'll send you simple instructions beforehand, and if anything goes wrong on the day, you can just ring me.
"I'm not sure I'd like being on camera."
I understand — it can feel odd to begin with. I do need to be able to see you, mainly so I can help if something needs adjusting, and it's what makes the class feel like a real group rather than everyone doing their own thing separately. Most people say any nerves settle after the first class or two.

Why choose live online Pilates classes?

  • No driving. If getting to a class in the dark or the rain has ever put you off, that's one less thing to think about — and if your week's already full of appointments, grandchildren, or other people who need you, not having to travel anywhere makes a weekly class actually realistic.
  • Community You'll get to know some familiar faces. There's often a bit of a chat before and after, if you fancy it — and if you'd rather log off the second class ends, that's completely fine too.
  • On-the-spot alternatives if an exercise doesn't suit you. It's a two-way class, so I can help if something needs adjusting, the same as if I were in the room — and it's part of what makes it feel like an actual class, not just a video.

You might be wondering why choose this over video classes — I do have plenty of those too, and they're great if you want to fit Pilates in whenever suits you. But this is different. It's live, it's the same people each week, and I can actually see you and help if something's not quite right. If you'd rather have company and a bit of gentle accountability than do it alone in front of a screen, that's what this is for.
